Adams Race Recap from his win at Beech Ridge

The whole Bates Racing Team was looking forward to last Saturday night’s race ever since the opening race of the season. Adam had a fourth place run at Beech Ridge this spring and knew that they would be able to improve on it. Practice went well but Adam was not the fastest one out there. His crew chief Mark Lyden made some calls and the crew went to work on the car.

When it came time to the heat race Adam was starting Third on the grid and by the half way mark he was in the lead. He went on to win the heat race which put him on the pole for the feature and things were looking good from the front of the 32 car field. Adam was in the lead for most of the first 40 laps until it slipped away shortly before a caution. He ran third for the next 70 lap run until another caution brought a halt to the race. For the remainder of the race Adam held off Scott Chubbuck and DJ Shaw who both put on a fierce battle. In the end Adam came out on top winning his first career PASS Super Late Model feature event.

Adams Race Recap from All-Star Speedway

Friday night during the open practice everything went well. According to the stop watch the car was one of the fastest cars out on the track. Saturday morning started off with a couple scuff sessions to break in the new race tires, as soon as that was done Adam and the team really got the car dialed in. Things were looking good going into the heat race, the #98 was starting in the third position, but due to a faulty start by the pole sitter Adam   wasn’t able to improve. Unfortunately during the autograph session prior to the race the rain didn’t hold off anymore, the officials announced that the make up date for the race would be Wednesday, July 30th. The next stop will be at Beech Ridge Speedway in Scarborough Maine on this coming Saturday night. Last time there Adam had a strong fourth place run and is confident that his team will give him an even better car this weekend.

Adams Race Recap from Wiscasset Raceway

The car was fast from the start, it went very well in practice. started second in the heat race and quickly got to the lead and won it lead it to the end. started second in the feature and dropped to fourth on the start, ended up getting third and stayed there for a long time. then on a restart a lapped car was put in front so I started on the outside row and dropped back to fourth again because there didn't seem to be any outside groove. was battling for third with Ben Rowe when the rain came and ended the race. I feel it could have been better had we run the full race but Im really happy with a fourth place finish.

Adams Race Recap from WMMP

I started seventh in my heat and avoided a first lap crash to move up and ended up finishing third, that put me in the seventh starting position for the feature. I started off running the first half of the race inside the top ten until I was squeezed into the wall. that bent the rear end and the cars handling went down hill fast. I got a flat tire in a later incident and ended up finishing eighteenth.

2nd Straight top 5 finish

Bates comes home with 2nd straight top 5 finish in the PASS Super Late Model Series.  Unofficially the 98 car was fastest in practice. Starting in mid-pack during the heat race Adam, came to the checkered flag 2nd place setting up a excellent position for the feature event. Then during the race Adam got pushed up to the outside grove, but held firmly inside the top 10.  Then "I finally got back on the bottom where the car was a rocket and got back to fourth."  Adams stated. Then it came down to a 3-way battle for 3rd place, with the 98 car crossing the start finish line in 5th to end the race.
