Adams Race Recap from Thompson, and Lee Speedway

The past week was a tough one for Bates Racing.  Saturday night at Thompson was going very well, Adam was happy with how the car was running right from the start.  With an eleventh place starting position for the feature things were looking pretty good and Adam started picking them off right away.  Once the race was inside of twenty to go he had made it to the top five and was still moving forward.  After a late race caution bunched the field  back up it was about a five car battle for the lead, unfortunately contact was made and Adam’s left front tire went flat which shot him straight into the turn three wall.  The hit was so hard that it destroyed the team’s only car, but luckily Adam escaped without injury.

Fortunately the PASS racing community is very generous and Bates Racing had countless offers from fellow competitors wanting them to borrow their cars.  They decided to borrow a chassis from Distance Racing and an engine from Kelly Moore. With all of the help Adam was able to get back on the track Tuesday night at Lee Speedway.  Despite the fact that there was very little time to get the car ready, things were still going great at the track.  By just past the half way point Adam had gotten up to third from his fourteenth starting spot.  Sadly after an excellent pit stop something went wrong with the car and eventually fell back to the  thirteenth position.  The team is going to keep plugging away at it and with high hopes will be racing in Groveton, NH next weekend.
